Stephan Hicks scored 18 points to lead the Cal State Northridge Matadors over the Pepperdine Waves 73-70 Saturday night at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu. It was just the second win of the season for CSUN, who picked up their first road victory of the season in six attempts.

The Waves outrebounded the Matadors 34-26 for the game and held a six-point lead at halftime, but CSUN came out firing in the second half. The Matadors shot 61.9% from the field (13 for 21), including five of eight from three-point range in the final 20 minutes, during which they outscored Pepperdine 49-40. Aqeel Quinn scored 17 points off the bench for CSUN, on just seven field goal attempts.
