In their broadcast television debut, UFC on Fox 1 produced a stunner on Saturday night, as Junior Dos Santos stunned Cain Velasquez with a first round knockout to become the new UFC Heavyweight Champion. Dos Santos knocked Velasquez down with a strong right hand to the temple, then quickly pounced while Velasquez was on the floor and landed several punches to the head.
"I have no words to say what I'm feeling. It's amazing, my life," Dos Santos said after the fight.
Velasquez hadn't fought since beating Brock Lesnar on October 23, 2010 to capture the heavyweight crown, after having surgery on his shoulder, was described before the fight by television analyst Joe Rogan as a fighter "who has no weaknesses."
No weaknesses, except for taking punches to the head, apparently.
