Padres Acquire Miguel Tejada From Orioles

Although it won’t affect today’s game, the Padres made a move today in attempt to bolster their offense, by acquiring Miguel Tejada of the Baltimore Orioles. Per Tom Krasovic of AOL Fanhouse:

The Padres have acquired SS Miguel Tejada from the Orioles. Double-A RHP Wynn Pelzer will go to Baltimore.

The deal is pending league approval, which usually means cash is exchanging hands. Per Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun:

We believe there is a pitcher coming back to the Orioles as well as salary relief in a Tejada deal to the #Padres

The 36-year old Miguel Tejada has struggled this season with Baltimore, hitting .269/.308/.362.

Pelzer was the seventh-ranked Padres prospect heading into the season by Baseball America.
