Cory Wade Outrighted To Triple A Albuquerque

The good news for Dodgers reliever Cory Wade is that his rehabilitation assignment is over. The bad news is that he will remain in the minor leagues, and has been removed from the 40-man roster, per Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.

Wade was a pleasant surprise to the Dodgers bullpen as a rookie in 2008, posting a 2.27 ERA in 71 1/3 innings. In 2009, he struggled to the tune of a 5.53 ERA in 27 2/3 innings, and spent two different stints on the disabled list with right shoulder problems.

During spring training, Wade experienced discomfort in his shoulder again, and had arthroscopic surgery in March. Wade while on rehabilitation assignment made two appearances last week with the Dodgers rookie league team in Arizona, then made two more appearances this with Inland Empire in Advanced Class A.

The Dodgers currently have 38 players on their 40-man roster.
