Clippers Vs. Kings: L.A. Looks For Win At Home Against Struggling Sacramento

(Sports Network) - The Pacific Division cellar-dwellers tangle tonight at Staples Center when the Los Angeles Clippers entertain the Sacramento Kings. The Kings were competitive in their last outing but the results remained the same as the club lost its seventh consecutive game, a 105-103 setback at the hands of Dallas on Saturday. Jason Kidd made two key free throws with 28.7 seconds remaining and Jason Terry stole the ball at the end of regulation in that one as the Mavericks escaped California's capital with the win.

Tyreke Evans donated 25 points, eight assists, and five rebounds for the Kings, who have dropped 13 of 14 overall. Donte Greene chipped in with 19 points for Sacramento, which got 17 points and 11 boards from DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings haven't recorded a victory since November 19 -- their only win since November 1.

"I told [my players] that if this is baseball, everybody goes through a slump. What they tell batters is to go up there and take their hacks," said Sacramento coach Paul Westphal. "We don't have one player on this team that is living up to his lifetime shooting percentages across the board. Not one."

The Clippers, meanwhile, fell to an NBA worst 4-17 on Sunday when Andre Miller had two key steals during the final 36 seconds, sealing a 100-91 Portland victory over Los Angeles at the Rose Garden. Miller finished with five steals in the game and recorded 13 points and six assists for Portland, which ended a six-game losing streak.

Eric Gordon posted 24 points for the Clippers, who dropped their second game in a row. Blake Griffin notched his eighth consecutive double-double with 21 points and 15 boards, while Baron Davis recorded 14 points and eight assists in the loss.

"We're right there," Gordon said. "We have been in this situation many times, where it's coming down to the end of games. We just have to finish them off."

The Clippers snapped a three-game skid against the Kings with a 100-82 rout in LA on Nov. 25.
