UCLA Vs. Washington: Bruins Look To Win Seventh Straight

Following a come-from-behind win over unranked Washington State Wednesday, the Bruins to look to respond and potentially win their seventh consecutive game Friday against visiting Washington.

The Huskies venture to Pauley Pavilion less than 48 hours after defeating USC 73-67 in overtime. Despite trailing 16-4 early in the first half Wednesday, the Huskies crawled back behind a collection of 3-pointers from freshman Terrence Ross and sound defensive play.

A year ago, UCLA and Washington split the season series, with the Bruins winning 62-61 at home, a place where they have won four consecutive games over the Huskies.

With the return of Tyler Honeycutt to the lineup from a shoulder injury, the Bruins will look to continue their hot streak. Reeves Nelson has also played well during the team's recent surge.

But freshman center Joshua Smith, who hails from Kent, Wash., may be the group's most intriguing player, as he is averaging 10.1 points and 6.8 rebounds on the season while shooting 53.5%.

"His upside is really limitless, especially as he gets into better condition and better shape," UCLA Coach Ben Howland told Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times.
